Surcare - A Review

This week I've been busy trying to get through this lot:

2 adults, 3 children, 2 bed-wetters, 1 dribbling toddler. Lets just say that that equates to A LOT of washing.

To be honest I'm a bit of a detergent whore. I'm not stuck on one particular product, I just tend to go for the cheapest option. I don't really care what they look like, how they smell, whether petals flow from your dress as you walk down the street....as long as they clean our clothes and stop the sheets smelling of pee I'm happy.

I've also got to say here that this is the most I've ever spent thinking about washing powder in my life.

However, perhaps I've been missing a trick. Since my husband kindly passed his asthma, allergies and eczema onto not one, not two, but all three of our children I've had to learn about what helps and hinders each of their conditions.

And it seems I've missed out on the whole washing powder aspect.

Surcare, who produce a range of detergents, softeners and washing up liquids have apparently been used for years by Mums who want something extra gentle for their children’s skin and by people who have sensitive skin and suffer from eczema and allergies. So when they asked whether I'd like to review their products I thought I'd give it a go (See? No allegiances.)

The products claim to be "free from dyes and perfumes, which is wonderful news for skin.  And the non-biological powder, liquid and tablets provide excellent cleaning results at 30 degrees – which is great for your clothes and the environment too."

Hence this week I've been ploughing through the wash pile and getting the kids to wear the clothes. This is my boys eczema after a couple of days of wearing t-shirts washed in Surcare products. It's not great but it's a huge improvement on the red, weeping sores that he had last week.
It's his underarm in case you're trying to work it out.

So in summary, the clothes are clean at 30degrees, they smell (oddly) of nothing - which of course is a lot better than pee, and they are non-aggravating to the children's eczema.

So thank you Surcare for leaving me racked with guilt for not using you years ago.

My whoring days are over.
